Prepare your trip to and from the Cancun Airport

Travel times from hotels to Cancun Airport can be longer due to traffic. It is important to consider the departure times of your flights and how much time you will need to get to the airport but don't worry! here we help you.

All airlines require a minimum check-in time of 2 hours before departure. You must also take into account the travel time from your hotel to the airport, and make sure you arrive at least 2 hours in advance.

Given the potential traffic due to road works or unexpected mishaps, we recommend adding the additional time to your hotel departure time.

Some of the approximate times from the airport to some destinations are as follows:

• 45 MINUTES: Cancun Hotel Zone, Downtown Cancun, Puerto Juarez Ferry (Isla Mujeres), Puerto Morelos.
• 60 MINUTES: Playa Mujeres, Costa Mujeres.
• 75 MINUTES: Playa del Carmen, Xcaret.
• 90 MINUTES: Puerto Aventuras, Xel-Ha.
• 120 MINUTES: Tulum.

Today, it is the second largest airport in Mexico in terms of passenger traffic, second only to Mexico City International Airport.
