The main features of Punta Esmeralda are its tranquility, beauty and family atmosphere. Most of its visitors are local people.

Here you will not find restaurants or any other place to buy food or snacks. So, if you plan a long stay at the beach make sure to bring food and water. There isn’t beach equipment (umbrellas, lounge chairs) rentals either. Therefore, palm trees will be your best ally to protect you from the sun.

A special feature of this beach is a small hidden cenote that connects to the sea through a river.

From this beach, it is possible to have a closer look to sea life since it is near to Francisco I. Madero reef, a section of Cancun’s Great Coral Reef.
